NEXX USA Hires New Racer Support Director
January 30th, 2013
From a press release issued by NEXX USA:
NEXX USA to extend 2013 sponsorship deadline and announce David Blakeney to support US Racing Operations.
Washington, DC – NEXX USA has been receiving an immense amount of requests for sponsorships and have decided to extend our sponsorship deadline to February 28, 2013 to be eligible to receive full benefits. A set program will be available for any racer after this, but will not include some of the full benefits that early registrants will receive. Continuing onto our second year of racing support we have structured multiple packages for racers that fit into certain categories of ability such as promotional, finishing results, and overall community depth.
We are happy to continue our racing sponsorship program and support racing in the US. We are continuing to grow our local race support programs now available in Southern California and Mid-Atlantic areas to support those local communities in their NEXX Helmet support.
Continuing on with GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing Support NEXX USA is proud to announce our newest addition to the family supporting our Racer Support Director position, David Blakeney, formerly of Riders Discount Vesrah Suzuki. David will be attending, tentatively, the first two rounds of GEICO AMA Pro Road Racing events to begin to establish relationships and build a repertoire for his service center, ultimately planning for the rest of the 2013 season.
“Our first year of GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing sponsorships in 2012 was a great learning experience for us and a great way to get our name out in the racing paddock. We want to continue growing our brand within the paddock while also servicing and awarding those racers who are promoting our brand on and off the track,” says Stephen Lim, NEXX-USA. “Our decision to hire David was because of his impeccable work ethic and punctuality while being a pit crew member during the 2012 season, so we are confident he can provide the impeccable customer service we expect.” We will also have David managing all of our nationwide, local service providers, providing service to numerous race organizations such as WERA, CCS, CMRA, CVMA, AFM, and more.
“I’m very excited to become part of the NEXX-USA family. They have a great product and I’m really looking forward to helping them grow the brand. Being the second year in the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing paddock I plan to continue building new relationships while providing the same great service to the racers we support. The 2013 season is only a few months away and I can’t wait to get going. I just want to thank NEXX-USA for the opportunity and I look forward to representing them proudly,” says David Blakeney

New Leather Sponsor For WERA West Women’s Superstock Champion Krystyna Kubran
January 30th, 2013
From a press release issued by Krystyna Kubran’s publicist

WERA Racer Krystyna Kubran lands a new sponsor for 2013 and Women Riders/Racers everywhere may rejoice in more suit choices!
WERA racer Krystyna Kubran (#352) is excited to announce a new partnership with Cortech for 2013 and that she had the pleasure of trying out her first custom Cortech suit during the last few races of 2012.
“This is incredibly exciting as there are so few options for leather suits for women riders on the market, even these days, and I’m thrilled to work with Cortech in that they’ve made a few women’s suit for some notable lady racers recently,” Kubran commented regarding the unique issue facing women riders.
“There are few off-the-rack suits that fit women well, and many do not offer the safety features, like a ‘speed hump.’ I will not ride without one, as I contribute this feature to literally saving my neck in crashes in the past. I was drawn to Cortech’s great safety focus,” Kubran noted.
The 2012 Roadracing World Track Day Directory featured Kubran, among many other talented lady racers, in an article covering the unique issue of full leather racing suits fitting women’s bodies.
“Cortech worked closely with me in getting the fit correct and still keeping it flattering. Having a flattering fit is important to me, as is protection – it’s a girl thing,” Kubran commented in regards to Cortech. “Cortech was very professional and listened to my needs and desires for the suit. As women, we have significantly varying body types, and it’s not as easy to make a one-type-fits-many suit.”
“This Cortech suit fits incredibly well, and one of my favorite parts is how it hugs my body – like a glove. It doesn’t feel baggy in any areas, and this fit makes me feel more protected knowing it will not move or cause issues should I crash. It also has fantastic venting and stretch panels that make it easy to stay cool in the Southern California heat while providing considerable range of motion. Cortech did an absolutely fabulous job on my logo graphics. They are printed onto patches, and the resolution of the logos look crisp and vibrant!
“My favorite part, though, was being able to select the colors and have a small hand in the suit design.
“I highly recommend women consider a custom suit, as the pricing is very competitive with an off-the-rack suit and the market still doesn’t have a great selection of suits for women who race and ride on the track. Ladies, think of how hard it is to find a pair of jeans that fit right. Now think of how hard it is to find a good fit for your whole body,” advises Kubran.
Kubran’s final comment, “I’m looking forward to representing Cortech in 2013. They are helping me to balance femininity with professionalism on track.”
More on Cortech:
The Cortech line may be found at cortechperformance.com and have made custom suits for many AMA Pro Racing and notable club racing riders.
More on Kubran:
Krystyna Kubran swept the 2012 WERA West Women’s Superstock Championship and Formula Femme for the 2012 California State Championship. She had a best finish of 4th in the Open Superstock WERA West and California State Championship final on board her 2006 Graves refreshed Yamaha R1.

Triple Crown/Richie Morris Racing Gains Sponsorship From Motosport.com, Adds Stefano Mesa, Santiago Villa To 2013 Rider Lineup
December 19th, 2012
From a press release issued by Triple Crown/Richie Morris Racing

The online powersports parts and accessories giant will be a primary supporter in both Daytona SportBike and SuperSport for the upcoming 2013 AMA Pro Road Racing Series.
“Teaming up with Richie Morris Racing and Triple Crown Industries for the AMA Pro Racing series is an exciting proposition,” stated MotoSport.com CEO and President, Bill Butcher. “The team is very strong. We are eagerly anticipating racing alongside them through the 2013 AMA Pro season and look forward to seeing the view from the podium.”
The team will feature Stefano Mesa and Santiago Villa carrying the MotoSport.com banner in SuperSport, while Bobby Fong (and possibly another rider) will compete for the Daytona SportBike championship.
“When Richie and I merged our efforts we immediately started structuring our plans around MotoSport.com. The Voltcom Group also has a significant number of international projects and is currently involved in either long-term schemes, or beginning operations, in territories that the Superbike World Championship visits, such as Australia, Italy, Spain, Russia and the newest country on the calendar India. For more details on the Voltcom Group visit www.voltcomgroup.com
FIXI Crescent Suzuki is pleased to have the opportunity to work with a company that also regards safety as a main priority. The similarities between a high-performance motorcycle ridden at the extremes of World Superbike racing and the service and supply of live electrical power are an obvious association. It is this ‘stay safe’ ethos that FIXI Crescent Suzuki and the Voltcom Group are looking to promote as they join together for the 2013 Superbike World Championship.
Mark Wright – Voltcom Group, Managing Director:
“The Voltcom Group is very pleased to be entering into a completely new area with its sponsorship of motorcycle racing and the FIXI Crescent Suzuki World Superbike team. The Voltcom Group is fast becoming a global name – just as World Superbike already is – and the fit with a premium team that cares for safety as much as we do, was a major factor in our decision to get involved. The technologies involved in top-level motorcycle racing are similar to the ones we use in power and aviation industries, so it was all quite a natural fit. We are delighted to be associated with such a friendly, forward-thinking and competitive team as FIXI Crescent Suzuki. We are looking forward to the 2013 season and working with the team as they go all-out to get back to winning ways.”
